DESCRIPTION: Join us on The Quest for Cold Harbour - the haunted house at t
he heart of a largely forgotten ghost story written by once bestselling Br
itish author Francis Brett Young (1884-1954). This walk by literary detect
ives Clive Judd and James Glover kicks off Walkspace's Autumn Season. \n\n
Steeped as it is in the landscape\, folklore and local history of his bel
oved Black Country home\, we'll strike out together in search of Brett You
ng’s 'Cold Harbour’\, uncovering the part real\, part imagined locatio
ns that informed this extraordinary and atmospheric work of West Midlands
psychogeography. We'll cross between urban and rural landscape and travel
backwards and forwards in time as we trace the uncanny scars and weirded f
aultlines of this unforgettable region\; a place forever altered by its in
dustrial past and underpinned by a much deeper\, much stranger history. An
d perhaps\, somewhere along the way\, we may find ourselves haunted by spe
ctres of ourselves too…? \n\n Please note: this event is for Walkspace m
embers and invited guests only. Please don't share this link! \n
