DESCRIPTION: Title: Word-of-Mouth on Social Media: An Investigation of Vala
nce Effects on Prehire Outcomes \n\n Abstract: Word-of-Mouth (WOM) has bec
ome a primary\nsource of employer information. Thus\, there is an urgent n
eed to better\nunderstand how organizations can best capitalize on such in
formation to build\nemployer brands and attract potential talent. To contr
ibute to current\nknowledge in this area\, I investigate how WOM content i
n terms of valence and\nimage type influences the evaluation of potential
employers on social media.\nThis research adopts a mixed methods approach
by bringing together text mining\ntechniques and experimental design to st
udy the psychology of potential job\nseekers. Findings from two studies ar
e discussed in terms of their implications\nfor managing employer image an
d branding. \n\n Bio: Trevor Yu is an Associate Professor at Nanyang Busin
 ess School\, Nanyang Technological University\, Singapore\, with a Ph.D. i
n Organisational Behaviour from the University of North Carolina (Chapel H
ill). His research focuses on employer branding\, strategic recruitment\,
and the impact of AI in the workplace\, and his work is published in top j
ournals like the Journal of Applied Psychology and Human Resource Manageme

ning\, and serves as an Associate Editor at Human Resource Management (Wil
