 \n\n Abstract: Recent event-oriented research has demonstrated that events
  can influence many different psychological processes and outcomes. Import
 antly\, this research has focused on the impact of single events in isolat
 ion\, even though there is considerable reason to believe that multiple ev
 ents might act in concert to affect outcomes. We adopt a multiple-event ap
 proach and link employee experience from a past negative event to a curren
 t negative event. In doing so\, we argue that past negative event experien
 ce can mitigate the negative effect of current event disruption on employe
 e outcomes. More specifically\, building from job demands-control theory\,
  we propose that job overload mediates the current event disruption and tu
 rnover intentions relationship. Shared employee past negative event experi
 ence\, individual adaptivity\, and unit collective resilience positively m
 oderate this mediated relationship. We explore these relationships in two 
 field studies and found (in study 1) that shared past negative event exper
 ience mitigated the negative effect of current event disruption on employe
 e turnover intentions. Based on these findings\, we designed study 2 to fu
 rther investigate the proposed mediating and moderating mechanisms\, findi
 ng additional support for our hypotheses. These findings extend the event-
 oriented theories and research and have important implications for managem
 ent practice. \n\n Bio: Dr. Pingshu Li is an associate professor of Manage
 ment at the Robert C. Vackar College of Business and Entrepreneurship\, Un
 iversity of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He received his PhD degree in human r
 esource management and Organizational Behavior from the University of Kans
 as. His research interests include strategic human resource management and
  human capital\, prosocial motivation and employee turnover. He has publis
 hed in journals such as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Process
 es\, Human Resource Management\, and Human Resource Management Journal\, a
 mong others. His research has received best paper awards from multiple con
 ferences\, including Best Convention Paper and Best Student Paper from the
  HR Division\, Academy of Management conference. He currently serves as an
  associate editor of Journal of Business Research. \n\n Note: Tea/coffee a
