DESCRIPTION: Title: HRM\, well-being\, and organizational performance: in s
 earch of sustainable balance \n\n Abstract: Organizations are increasingly
  pressured by regulatory bodies and social stakeholders to manage their so
 cial sustainability\, particularly regarding their impact on the health an
 d well-being of their workforce. Balancing social objectives with financia
 l objectives is a challenging yet crucial endeavor\, especially in today's
  constantly evolving and disruptive business environment. In this talk\, I
  will discuss how organizations can create value for their employees in ad
 dition to economic value through HRM strategies. More specifically\, I wil
 l critically discuss existing research on worker well-being in the context
  of strategic HRM\, highlighting the (inconsistent) empirical evidence in 
 the literature to date. Additionally\, I will present some ongoing work th
 at offers insights into how HRM enactment satisfies organizations' and wor
 kers’ interests and how HRM can foster worker well-being and organizatio
 nal performance simultaneously\, thereby promoting a strategically balance
 d perspective on HRM. \n\n Bio: Karina van de Voorde is an Associate Profe
 ssor in HRM at the Department of Human Resource (HR) Studies at Tilburg Un
 iversity. Her research takes a balanced approach to Human Resource Managem
 ent\, focusing on the role of employee well-being and health in the relati
 onship between HRM and organizational performance\, as well as examining h
 ow employees perceive and respond to HRM practices. Karina’s work has be
 en published in journals including the Journal of Management\, Journal o
 f Business Research\, Human Resource Management Journal\, and Human Resour
 ce Management Review. She has served as an Associate Editor for Human 
 Resource Management and as a rep-at-large for the HR Division of the
  Academy of Management. Additionally\, Karina currently leads the research
  program in the Department of HR Studies and coordinates the Tilburg Cente
 r for Collaborative Organizational Data Analytics. \n\n Note: Tea/coffee a
