DESCRIPTION: Title: Future-making and the circulation of organizational pow
er \n\n Abstract: In this paper\, we bring together work on future-making
and power\nto examine how future-making can lead to the circulation of pow
er. While the\nconnection between future-making and power has been explore
d in terms of how\npower dynamics affect future-making\, there has been li
ttle work on how\nfuture-making can affect the distribution of power in an
organization. Drawing\non a case of a foresight intiative carried out by
the canton of Geneva\, we\nexplore how future-making resulted in the circu
lation of power and what mechanisms\nunderlie this unexpected result. Give
n the increasing interest in future-making\nand temporality in organizatio
n and management theory\, our study makes\nimportant contributions to our
understanding of how future-making can result in\nchanges in the power pos
itions of different coalitions involved in the\nprocess. \n\n Authors: \n\
