DESCRIPTION: The Scaled Professional Scrum (SPS) Workshop will show you how
to launch\, structure\, staff\, and manage a large agile or Scrum project
. \n\n In this 2-day workshop you will organise and simulate a scaled sof
tware development project to learn the infrastructure\, tools and practice
s needed for success. You will leave knowing how to scale Scrum in order t
o maximise the value of your software development initiative. \n\n Course
Outline \n\n Scrum.org have spent the last two years developing a two-day
workshop about scaling Scrum from one to many teams on large projects. Wor
king with people who have actually constructed the frameworks and practice
s that made large projects and product initiatives work. \n\n Ken Schwaber
&amp\; Scrum.org have developed a workshop in which participants learn ho
w to scale a project based on Scrum teams. This is not a philosophical met
hodology\, like SAFe\, but a nuts and bolts set of detailed tools and prac
tices for your use. These practices are appended to the basic Scrum framew
ork to create a process you can use to scale your next or current project.
\n\n We abstracted a framework for this scaling which we named Nexus. A N
exus is 3-9 Scrum teams that are working on a single Product Backlog to bu
ild an integrated increment that meets a goal. A Nexus+ is more than one N
exus interoperating to build a large product\, usually integrated through
a product family framework\, api\, or similar integrating technology. \n\n
We developed or reformulated 30+ practices\, which cause the Nexus to ope
rate predictably. During the workshop you work in teams to apply the pract
ices on a case study. Come to this workshop if you have a project or initi
ative that you need to successfully scale\, or one that is in trouble. We
will help you through teaching\, exercises\, and coaching. \n\n The audien
ce is systems engineers\, development managers\, lead developers …. the
people who will make this happen and have strong familiarity with modern d
evelopment and Scrum. And for those that will manage the project and need
to know when to step on the throttle\, and when to brake. \n\n Those of yo
u who have invested and attempted commercial scaling methodologies such as
SAFe will find this aimed at the organising and doing of scaled developme
nt. It may well fill a gap that you have noticed when you get to setting u
p and running your projects\, programs and releases. \n\n Workshop agenda
\n\n \n The Nexus – An Introduction \n Nexus in Action – Dealing with
 Common Challenges \n Managing the Nexus – Healthy Scaling \n Nexus+ \n \
n\n All participants who complete the Scaled Professional Scrum workshop r
eceive a password to attempt the Scaled Professional Scrum assessment (SPS
). \n\n The industry-recognised SPS certification requires a minimum passi
ng score on this rigorous assessment. Scrum.org maintains a public list wi
th everyone holding the Scaled Professional Scrum certificate. \n\n Find o
