DESCRIPTION: Please book your item in advance so we can assess the repair a
 nd match you with the right volunteer. We may need to contact you for a li
 ttle more information before the event. \n\n Repair Cafe Portchester is a 
 monthly community event run by volunteers to help fix broken household ite
 ms\, reduce waste\, and share repair skills. Repairs are carried out with 
 you\, not as a drop-off service\, and we cannot guarantee a repair. \n\n R
 epair Café Portchester is free to attend &amp\; is run entirely on donati
 ons\, with each event costing around £150–£170 to deliver. We’re pro
 ud to offer a welcoming\, free service for anyone who needs help repairing
  their items - especially those who may not be in a position to contribute
 . If you are able to donate\, your support helps us continue running futur
 e events\, reducing waste\, supporting our local community\, and keeping o
 ur volunteer-led project going for the benefit of both people and the plan
 et. A suggested donation is £10 if you are able. \n\n WHAT WE FIX: \n\n W
 e are a group of volunteers with various skills and will try to fix items 
 including: \n\n + Small Electrical items: Such as\, Lamps\, radios\, toast
 ers\, vacuum cleaners\, gaming controllers \n\n + Clothing &amp\; Textiles
 : Mending garments\, replacing zippers\, and repairing bags\, Minor altera
 tions. \n\n + Furniture &amp\; Household Items: Fixing broken chairs\, tab
 les\, crockery\, and sharpening tools \n\n + Toys &amp\; Jewellery: Repair
 ing broken toys and jewelry \n\n  \n+ Bicycles: Pumping tyres\, adjusting 
 brakes\, tightening spokes \n\n At the moment we are unable to look at wat
 ches however will add this back to the list as soon as we can. \n\n PLEASE
  BE AWARE OF THE LIST OF ITEMS WE CANNOT OFFER REPAIR ON BEFORE MAKING A B
 OOKING: \n\n - Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) televisions and monitors  \n\n - Pla
 sma lamps  \n\n - Flash Guns  \n\n - Coolant circuits of Portable fridges 
 (Electrical components are accepted such as the thermostat.  \n\n - Any pe
 trol/gas-powered item \n\n - Lithium ion battery items such as but not lim
 ited to\\\, E-scooters/E-bikes/Ride on hoverboards \n\n - Microwaves/radio
 active element containing items \n\n - Safety equipment such as but not li
 mited to\, Motocycle/Bicycle helmets\, Smoke alarms\, Carbon monoxide alar
 ms\, Car seats. \n\n  \n \nIMPORTANT INFORMATION: \n\n + Repair Cafe Portc
 hester runs on the last Saturday of the month\, 10:30am–12:45pm \n\n + B
 ooking is encouraged so we can balance repairs with available volunteers \
 n\n + We do not repair large items such as fridges / freezers\, petrol / g
 as-powered items\, high-voltage items\, hazardous items such as items with
  radioactive elements / watches or clocks with glowing components\, safety
  equipment\, microwaves\, mobile phones\, or laptops.\nPlease see a detail
 ed list of items above. \n\n + Guests must stay with their item during the
  repair. Part of what we do at RCP is to inform &amp\; teach guests how to
  carry out their own repairs in the future to promote the mindset of being
  confident to repair and re use items. \n
