DESCRIPTION: Christ asks us to be his ambassadors in our everyday lives. He
gives us the privilege and responsibility of carrying both his message an
d his very self into the world. \n\n One role of the pastor is to equip co
ngregants to live into this privilege of bearing Christ into the world. Th
is role grows increasingly complex and increasingly important as our cultu
re digs deeper into diverging ideological trends. What is the role of the
church in today's pluralistic and often turbulent context? How do we champ
ion the rights of all people to follow their chosen ideologies\, yet still
stand for the enduring truth of the Christian Gospel? As we speak in the
public square—and teach our congregants to do the same—how can we expe
ct to be heard amidst the din? \n\n At this year’s Pastors and Leaders C
onference\, consider approaches your church could take toward meaningful e
ngagement in a post-Christian public square. Hear from church leaders as t
hey explore strategies for stimulating and encouraging good ambassadorship
in congregants. Hear also from leading voices in other sectors of society
—from medicine to politics\, disaster relief to urban geography—as the
y share their challenges and successes in representing Christ in their pub
lic lives. \n\n God is already at work in society. Let’s learn together
how we can join this work with skill and grace. \n\n “How we deal with
our deepest religious and ideological differences in public life will be
a defining issue for the future of humankind." —Os Guinness\, The Global
  Public Square \n
