 opean Green Deal goals\, ensuring a resource-efficient and climate-neutral
  Europe by 2050. \n\n IoT sensors and their data management provide better
  assessments and greener services in our cities. Videoconferencing from ho
 me offices cuts travel costs. Open-sourced platforms and applications impr
 ove the participation of people in the co-creation of more sustainable pol
 icies. \n\n All of these outcomes are wonderful but have we ever wondered 
 about the negative impact these digital solutions have on our environment?
  To make Europe climate-neutral by 2050\, we need to ensure that digital
  technologies do not consume more energy than they save. At the moment
 \, the Information Communications and Technology (ICT) industry produces m
 ore than 830 million tons of carbon dioxide annually. That corresponds to 
 about 4% of global CO2 emissions - twice as much as the commercial flights
 ’ impact! This needs to change! \n\n Digital for Planet calls for organi
 sations and individuals to join forces to advance green digital technologi
 es that do not harm our planet. The Green Digital for Sustainable Transfor
 mation workshop will bring together top experts from the European Commissi
 on\, industry and academia to present and discuss solutions that will allo
 w our society to harness green digital technologies and reach the European
