 nament is open to all players of school age who live in Edinburgh\, East L
 othian\, Midlothian\, West Lothian and Scottish Borders council areas.   \
 n\n The following titles will be awarded: \n\n \n Lothians Junior Chess On
 line Champion 2021 \n Lothians Junior Chess Primary Online Champion 2021 \
 n Lothians Junior Chess P5 &amp\; Under Online Champion 2021 \n \n\n Secti
 ons \n\n \n P5 &amp\; Under\nFor primary school players up to and includin
 g P5 \n Primary (P7 &amp\; Under)\nFor primary school aged players.  This 
 will mostly be P6 and P7 but younger players may enter this section if the
 y want more challenging games\, otherwise they should enter the P5 and Und
 er section. \n Open (S6 &amp\; Under\nFor school aged players. This will m
 ostly be Secondary school age\, but younger players may enter this section
  if they want more challenging games\, otherwise they should enter the Pri
 mary or the P5 and Under section.  \n \n\n Sections may be merged or split
  depending on the number of entries. \n\n Time Control \n\n 15 minutes plu
 s a 5 second increment for all sections \n\n Round times \n\n \n Round 1: 
 10:00 am \n \n\n Play will be continuous with a minimum 5 minute interval 
 between the end of the last game of one round and the start of the next ro
 und.  It is anticipated that all play will be finished by 1pm\, but this c
 annot be guaranteed. \n\n  Host server: lichess \n\n Players must have an 
 account on lichess.org (a completely free to use chess website) and let us
  know their user name on the entry details. This must be their own account
 \, not shared with anyone else. Please get in touch if you need help with 
 setting this up. \n\n Prior to the tournament they will need to join our t
 eam and the tournament. We will contact you with details of how to do this
 . \n\n Games will be paired by lichess using the users lichess rapid ratin
 g. \n\n The default lichess algorithm will be used for tiebreaks. \n\n It 
 is strongly advised that play is via the latest Chrome or Safari web brows
 er and not via the lichess app on a tablet or phone \n\n  Grading and Rati
 ng \n\n All games will be Chess Scotland Allegro graded and lichess rated 
 \n\n Be Nice. Play Fair \n\n Players should conduct themselves as they wou
 ld in an over the board tournament.  This includes not receiving assistanc
 e during play in any form including\, but not limited to\, another person\
 , an electronic chess program\, books etc. \n\n Players must be respectful
  to each other at all times when using the chat etc. They must not accuse 
 another player of unfair play in the chat or in the forums. Any concerns m
 ust be raised privately with the LJC Committee. \n\n Lichess has powerful 
 anti-cheating measures in place and in addition games will be analysed usi
 ng the FIDE anti-cheating software. \n\n If a player's account is suspende
 d by lichess they will not be able to play\, or continue\, in the tourname
 nt. If lichess imposes a temporary sanction (eg for misusing the chat) the
 y may miss one or more rounds. LJC have no control over this. All appeals 
 must be made to lichess. \n\n The Lothian Junior Chess Anti-cheating Polic
 y is available on our website \n\n Discounts \n\n Discounts are available 
 for \n\n \n players who receive free school meal on income grounds (code F
 SM) \n players who are paid Chess Scotland members should tick the box on 
 the entry details form. When their membership has been verified they will 
 receive a £1 refund. \n \n
