DESCRIPTION: Once again this season\, the Edinburgh Junior Congress will be
  a qualifier for Scotland's national Junior Chess Competition - Chess for 
 Kicks.  \n\n The competitions are split by grading and age.  We are using 
 start of season (Published) grades.   \n\n You can find your child's Chess
  Scotland grade via the Chess Scotland website \n\n Full day events  9.15a
 m - 4.30pm \n\n Primary U300/Ungraded \n\n Primary school aged children wh
 o do not have a grade or who's grade is below 300 \n\n Primary U600 \n\n P
 rimary school aged children who's grade is below 600 \n\n Secondary U600/U
 300/Ungraded \n\n School aged children who's grade is below 600.  The top 
 4 under 600 and the top 4 under 300 will qualify for the Chess For Kicks f
 inal. \n\n Open / U1200 Allegro \n\n Any school aged player. The top 4 pla
 yers under 1200 will qualify for the Chess for Kicks final. \n\n Half day 
 Taster - 1pm \n\n As well as the full day events\, Lothian Junior Chess ar
 e also running a 'Taster Tournament'.  This will be a miniature version of
  the main event\,  with just three rounds of games from 1pm.  This is targ
 eted at younger children and those who feel that to start straight into a 
 six round event might be too big a first step.  Entry for the taster is li
 mited to P5 and under\, and the players should not yet have a grading and 
 have played in less than two of our events. \n\n For this event we are usi
 ng online entries - this should ease congestion at the registration desk.

 d. \n\n Entry fees \n\n All day events \n\n £8 Before 11pm Monday 21st Oc
 tober\n£10 After 11pm on Monday the 21st of October \n\n Taster \n\n £5 
 \n\n All entries by 11pm on Friday 25th October \n\n Chess Scotland member
 s can claim a £1 discount\, by using the code discount CSM before Monday 
 21st October. \n\n Children who receive free school meals for income reaso
 ns\, receive free entry by using the discount code FSM \n
