DESCRIPTION: To stay competitive\, companies need to ship better web experi
ences faster than ever. \n\n The web is constantly evolving\, and customer
s are demanding more and more from the web-based products they use. Compan
ies need to be able to respond quickly to feedback\, to deliver products a
nd features faster than ever — while simultaneously creating higher qual
ity experiences. \n\n In this workshop\, Jason Lengstorf will teach you ho
w the software architecture known as the Jamstack can put your team on the
fast track to creating incredible web experiences in record time. This pr
actical\, hands-on workshop will help teams and individual developers alik
e hit the ground running with the Jamstack. \n\n This workshop will cover
the technical foundations of the Jamstack\, starting with the basics and
ramping up to advanced concepts like user dashboards protected with authen
tication\, building dynamic experiences using client-side and serverless t
echnology\, reading from and writing to databases\, and more. \n\n In addi
tion to the technical details\, this workshop will show you how the Jamsta
ck can improve organizations at every level: \n\n \n for companies: reduc
e operational costs and decrease time to market \n for teams: gain more au
tonomy and decrease complexity \n for individual developers: use modern wo
rkflows and rapidly prototype new ideas \n for customers: use more perform
ant apps with a polished experience \n \n\n This workshop combines Jason
’s experience working on massive\, enterprise products at IBM\, helping
maintain Gatsby\, one of the most popular Jamstack frameworks\, and workin
g to push the boundaries of the Jamstack at Netlify. The material will hel
p teams of any size\, whether you’re working on an enterprise product wi
th hundreds of teammates or bootstrapping a new product in your spare time
. \n\n At the end of this workshop\, you will: \n\n \n understand the cent
ral architectural advantages of the Jamstack \n build and deploy several J
amstack apps \n have a foundational understanding of how dynamic content w
orks on the Jamstack \n combine third-party services and APIs into Jamstac
k sites to create more powerful experiences with low overhead \n use serve
rless functions to get the power of a backend without the complexity \n \n
\n In order to get the most out of this workshop\, you need: \n\n \n able
to create a web page with HTML — we’re going to be building several pa
ges\, so get ready to write some markup! \n able to work with and modify e
xisting JavaScript — we won’t dive into how some of the underlying Jav
aScript built-ins work that we’ll use in this workshop \n it’s not req
uired\, but we will use some React in this workshop \n \n
