DESCRIPTION: Doors 7:30pm/Music 8:00pm \n\n "Dermot Dunne's accordion bring
s both poise and playfulness to the mix\, and Ariel Hernandez' superb guit
ar lines sit beneath a voice that could only have been born beneath a sout
hern star." - The Irish Times \n\n Many concert-goers will remember the du
o of Argentinian guitarist and singer Ariel Hernandez with Irish accordion
ist Dermot Dunne. Between 2003-2010\, the pair brought the excitement and
passion of Latin music to Irish audiences from the National Concert Hall t
o Belfast Opera House\, Vicar Street\, Farmleigh House\, the Bray Jazz Fes
tival\, Dún Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures and beyond. The duo intr
icately combined Ariel’s soulful voice and playing with Dermot’s instr
umental flair\, in a range of styles from the familiar Tango to the lesser
known Chacarera\, Zamba and Chamamé. \n\n After returning to Argentina i
n 2010\, Ariel relocated from his hometown of Buenos Aires to a remote tow
n in the interior Carpinteria – a region steeped in local tradition and
art\, where Latin influences blend with native styles. He immersed himself
in performing the music of the region with the finest local musicians\, r
ecording numerous albums and appearing at festivals throughout the region.
\n\n Ariel and Dermot's first album P'al que se va takes its title from a
song in which the singer tells a young man heading off to see the world\,
that the road which takes him away is also the road that will bring him b
ack. Now after many years\, Ariel takes to the road once again to visit th
e place he called home 15 years ago\, for a reunion tour with his duo part
ner which will delight Irish audiences. In addition to dances and songs of
Ariel's native land\, the concert will also include well-known classics
 – from the baroque era to beloved cinema scores. \n
