DESCRIPTION: Each month\, Improvised Music Company hosts Cooler Clinic CPD 
 events\, offering artists practical insight and honest conversations aroun
 d sustaining creative practice. \n\n For April\, this session looks at how
  income moves through a musician’s work — both within and beyond the m
 ost familiar routes of gigging and teaching. \n\n We’ll begin with a bri
 ef\, practical overview of upcoming funding opportunities\, including the 
 Arts Council’s Agility Award\, Bursary Award and Project Awards — outl
 ining what they support\, how to approach them\, and some common pitfalls.
  \n\n From there\, we widen the lens to explore less obvious and more self
 -directed income routes for improvised musicians in 2026. \n\n We’ll loo
 k at questions such as: \n\n Where does income currently enter your practi
 ce — and where could it? \n\n What role should funding play within a wid
 er mix? \n\n How can audiences support your work more directly? \n\n What 
 existing material or knowledge could be developed further? \n\n The sessio
 n will touch on practical approaches including crowdfunding\, Substack and
  Patreon\, merchandise and physical releases\, digital and educational out
 puts\, and alternative performance formats — and how these can sit along
 side touring\, commissions and funded work. \n\n This is not about doing e
 verything\, but about recognising what is already in your practice and ide
 ntifying new routes that feel aligned\, realistic and sustainable over tim
 e. \n\n As always\, there will be space for questions and discussion\, and
  the option to book a one-to-one conversation with a member of the IMC tea
 m on any aspect of your professional development. \n\n Attendance is free\

 l be sent to all registered participants. \n
