While AI can assist in st ructuring ideas\, refining writing\, and making the application process sm oother\, there are also pitfalls to watch out for—including generic or n on-specific language\, misalignment with funding criteria\, and ethical co ncerns. This session will cover:\n \n* How to use AI effectively in writin g grant applications \n\n \n\n \n Prompting strategies to get the best re sults from ChatGPT \n \n\n \n\n \n Common mistakes AI can introduce and h ow to avoid them \n \n\n \n\n \n The environmental impact of AI\, includi ng energy use and water consumption \n \n\n \nWe'll have a short talk on best practices\, followed by plenty of time for feedback on applications y ou’re working on - these may include the Arts Council Music Bursary and Agility Awards\, Local Council Awards\, and Commission and Residency pitch es such as for the Music Current Commission and for the Dun-Laoghaire Rath downe Residency. \n\n You can also use the one-to-one time to talk to the IMC team about any concerns you have around funding opportunities you’d like to apply for\, such as:\n \n* Getting another pair of eyes on an appl ication for any mistakes or areas of possible misunderstanding. \n\n \n\n \n Gaining external perspective on the goals of your draft application in relation to the award’s guidelines. \n \n\n \n\n \n Discussing draft b udgets\, the budgeting process\, and any questions you have\, or working w ith us to create a budget structure you can use. \n \n\n \n\n \n Getting feedback on or ideas for supporting documentation. \n \n\n \n\n \n If you don’t have a specific opportunity in mind but want to become more comfo rtable with the funding process\, feel free to bring a previous applicatio n\, a previous draft\, or even just a starting idea. \n \n\n \nIMC is not a funding body\, but having been a part of many applications over the yea rs\, we can offer advice based on our experience and provide a fresh pair of eyes over text\, budgets\, or supporting documentation. \n\n As always\ , one-to-one conversations can cover any career concerns—from social med ia to releasing music\, booking gigs\, and more. \n\n Attendance is free\ , but registration is required.
