DESCRIPTION: Part 1 - Contributor: Project SmartCLIDE \n\n Using SmartCLID
E to increase the adoption of cloud solutions \n\n The SmartCLIDE research
project aims to bridge the gap between on-demand business strategies and
the lack of qualified software professionals by creating a new cloud nativ
e IDE that makes it easier to develop and deploy cloud services.\nCloud co
mputing is the main enabler for digital transformation because it allows o
rganizations to disengage their growth from the need to acquire more power
ful infrastructures. When companies move creation or composition of new se
rvices to their clouds\, they can: \n\n \n Create new services from scratc
h \n Reuse code to compose new services \n Adopt new types of pricing mode
ls \n \n\n Parts of the workshop: \n\n \n Introduction to the SmartCLIDE v
ision for a cloud based IDE \n Introduction to the SmartCLIDE IDE\n\n \n S
ervice Creation and Composition \n Deep Learning Engine \n \n Roadmap for
the SmartCLIDE IDE \n \n\n Part 2 - Contributor: Project PHYSICS \n\n Si
mplifying Function-as-a-Service (FaaS) Application: from design to deploym
ent and beyond \n\n In recent years the advent of serverless computing has
revolutionized the way applications are deployed and managed over Cloud e
nvironments. Furthermore\, breaking down into functions enables a more sca
lable\, cloud native design model for applications\, although creating a f
urther migration or adaptation need of current application logic to the ne
w paradigm. Other challenges of the new design model include the porting o
f existing generic functionality\, the grouping of relevant functions into
more abstract functionalities as well as the easier wrapping\, deployment
and execution of the resulting logic on FaaS environments. In the worksho
p the architectural approach of the H2020 PHYSICS will be presented\, acro
ss 3 stacks (from design\, to deployment and operation)\, as well as an in
itial functionality driven design approach to alleviate the aforementioned
migration process in the new paradigm.\nParts of the workshop: \n\n \n In
troduction to the PHYSICS Architecture and Stacks \n Introduction to the
PHYSICS Design Environment \n \n\n "HORIZON CLOUD Technical Community Eve
