DESCRIPTION: "Your wife has such a beautiful neck..." \n\n "Sleep all day.
Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire." \n\
n South West Silents and Maria Pérez Cuervo from Hellebore join forces ag
ain to showcase two more horror classics\, this time\, celebrating the 'Cr
eatures of the Night!'. All of which will be screened on the biggest cinem
a screen in Bristol. Bristol's Megascreen! \n\n This special double bill w
ill include a screening of F. W. Murnau's classic silent film Nosferatu
 – Eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922) with live musical accompaniment by S
tephen Horne. \n\n After Nosferatu\, there will be a screening in the shap
e of 1980s classic The Lost Boys (1987) starring Kiefer Sutherland and Cor
ey Feldman. \n\n The event will have a number of stalls open on the day in
cluding special South West Silents\, Hellebore merch stands and Espensen S
pirit will be selling their specially themed cocktails. \n\n Plus\, there
’ll be a special prize for the best vampiresque fancy dress in the audie
nce. This will be revealed at the end of the event. \n\n \n\n 2pm: Nosfera
 tu – Eine Symphonie des Grauens (1922) \n\n Director: F. W. Murnau\nStar
ring: Max Schreck\, Gustav von Wangenheim\, Greta Schröder\, Alexander Gr
anach\nGER / 97 mins / PG \n\n One of the most iconic films of the German
expressionist era\, let alone cinema itself\, will showcase the way this i
ncredible film is meant to be shown: on the big screen with live musical a
ccompaniment. \n\n Featuring some of the most iconic images in cinema hist
ory\, Murnau’s Nosferatu: Eine Symphonie des Grauens (Nosferatu: A Symph
ony of Horror) continues to haunt and terrify modern audiences with its un
shakable power of gothic imagery and blood curdling suspense. \n\n In this
  first-ever screen adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula\, a simple real-e
state transaction leads an intrepid businessman deep into the superstitiou
s heart of Transylvania. There he encounters the otherworldly Count Orlok
(portrayed by the legendary Max Schreck\, in a performance the very backst
ory of which has spawned its own mythology) who soon after embarks upon a
cross-continental voyage to take up residence in a distant new land… and
establish his ambiguous dominion. \n\n With thanks to Friedrich Wilhelm M
urnau Foundation\, Wiesbaden.\nLive musical accompaniment by Stephen Horne
 . \n\n \n\n The Lost Boys (1987) \n\n Director: Joel Schumacher\nStarring:
  Kiefer Sutherland\, Corey Feldman\, Jami Gertz\, Corey Haim\nUSA / 97mins
/ 15 \n\n The Lost Boys is one of the 1980's iconic films! This classic t
ells the story of two new-in-town brothers who discover a local gang of mo
torcycle youths (including a young Kiefer Sutherland) who are more undead
than actually alive! \n\n Younger brother Sam (Corey Haim) works hard to e
radicate the ghouls but his older brother (Jason Patric) falls in love wit
h the group's lone female (Jami Gertz).Soon\, he finds that he's gradually
becoming a vampire himself. \n\n Shot on location in the coastal Californ
ia town of Santa Cruz and directed by Joel Schumacher (St. Elmo's Fire\, F
 latliners\, A Time to Kill)\, The Lost Boys became a pop-culture phenomeno
n thanks to its attractive young stars\, offbeat soundtrack\, and a very c
lever marketing campaign. \n\n The film's tagline: "Sleep all day. Party a
ll night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire." perfectly
captured its knowing mixture of attitude and gore. \n\n We highly recommen
d booking tickets early to avoid disappointment! \n\n \n\n HELLEBORE is a
Bristol-based small press devoted to British folk horror and the occult. A
s well as the biannual magazine of the same name\, HELLEBORE has published
a travel guide and a card game\, and was a World Fantasy Awards finalist
in 2022. \n\n South West Silents is a not-for-profit organisation. With su
pport of the BFI Film Audience Network\, awarding funds from the National
Lottery in order to bring this project to more audiences across the UK. \
