DESCRIPTION: The role of communications in driving climate action \n\n The
EPA\, as part of the National Dialogue on Climate Action\, will host a hyb
rid public lecture. \n\n Climate change is an urgent global threat. Fortun
ately\, the\nworld has an ample supply of solutions\, including accelerati
ng the transition\nfrom fossil fuels to clean energy\, electrification of
the transportation\nsector\, building smart cities\, and land management f
or carbon sequestration\,\namong many others. However\, the world has ofte
n lacked sufficient public demand\nfor these solutions\, otherwise known a
 s a lack of public\, consumer\, and\npolitical will. Drawing on recent int
ernational surveys\, including Ireland\,\nthis presentation will provide a
n overview of how changing public beliefs\,\nattitudes\, and behaviors can
both compel and constrain climate action by\ngovernments\, companies\, an
d individuals. \n\n Invited Guest Speaker: Dr. Anthony Leiserowitz \n\n \
n\n \n \n\n The evening will be chaired by Dr John Bowman \n\n \n
