DESCRIPTION: Our March event was special! We hosted Java Champion and JavaO
ne Rockstar Simon Maple\, Virtual JUG founder\, London Java Community co-l
eader\, RebelLabs author\, and Duke’s Choice award winner. \n\n Simon pr
esented..\n \n\n Do You Really Get Class Loaders \n\n and \n\n Productive
and Effective Development with Spring and Java EE \n\n Doors Open 18:15 (
evening session) \n\n . \n\n Simon is an experienced speaker\, having pres
 ented at JavaOne\, JavaZone\, Jfokus\, DevoxxUK\, DevoxxFR\, JavaZone\, JM
aghreb and many more including many JUG tours. His passion is around user
groups and communities. \n\n When not traveling\, Simon enjoys spending qu
ality time with his family\, cooking and eating great food. \n\n You can f
ollow him on twitter at @sjmaple and@virtualjug\n. \n\n Do You Really Get
Class Loaders \n\n Class loaders are at the core of the Java language. Jav
 a EE containers\, OSGi\, NetBeans modules\, Tapestry 5\, Grails\, and many
others use class loaders heavily. Yet if something went wrong\, would you
know how to solve it? \n\n This session takes a tour of the Java class lo
ading mechanism\, from both the JVM and developer points of view. \n\n It
looks at typical class loading problems and how to solve them. ClassNoDefE
 rror\, IncompatibleClassChangeError\, LinkageError\, and many others are s
ymptoms of specific things going wrong that you can usually find and fix.
\n\n For each problem\, the presentation goes through a hands-on demo with
a corresponding solution. It also takes a look at how and why class loade
rs leak and how you can remedy that. \n\n Productive and Effective Develop
ment with Spring and Java EE \n\n This live coding session shines some lig
ht on a range of productivity tools that make software development a pleas
ure rather than a chore. \n\n Simon will live-code two applications. The f
irst\, a Java EE application with JBoss Forge that uses JPA\, Bean Validat
ion\, REST\, and Angular\, is tested with Arquillian from within JBoss For
ge. You’ll see how a Java EE microservice can be developed in Forge and
run with JBoss Swarm. \n\n The second application is developed on Spring B
oot\, and you’ll see how to develop and run a Spring application with JR
ebel. You’ll learn how to write code productively with tools designed fo
 r developers. \n\n . \n\n The Dublin Java User Group - Sponsor Messages \n
