 ructured but supportive environment for under 19s to explore and learn abo
 ut computer programming and related topics. We have mentors from universit
 y and industry with a wide variety of skills who volunteer their time beca
 use they love to teach young people about computing. \n\n Prewired is also
  a place for young people to meet peers with shared interests which they c
 an develop together. For some\, it can be difficult to interest friends an
 d family in computing\, which may lead to a feeling of isolation. It can b
 e hard to figure out where to go next when there’s no-one you can ask. W
 e want to let young people know that there’s a huge community of like-mi
 nded people who are waiting to welcome them. \n\n What to expect... \n\n C
 heck yourself in on the registration list using the tablet at the front de
 sk — someone at the desk will help you if necessary. \n\n If you have ne
 ver coded before\, or have but don’t know what to do\, no problem! Intro
 duce yourself to the Duty Mentor (who should be easy to spot) when you arr
 ive\, and they’ll help you to get started. \n\n If you’re already work
 ing on a coding project (maybe you’re building your own website)\, or le
 arning a topic by yourself and are happy to carry on with that\, cool bean
 s. Make yourself at home and ask any of our mentors if you need help (they
 ’ll be wearing lanyards)\, or you can put your hand up and someone will
