DESCRIPTION: Now in its TWELFTH year\, uncodebar\, the codebar unconference
is back! Our annual one-day conference that encourages the codebar commun
ity to come together\, share knowledge\, and strengthen the community that
supports our workshops. \n\n \n\n What is an unconference? \n\n An unconf
erence is a "loosely structured open space emphasising the informal exchan
ge of information and ideas between participants". \n\n At an unconference
: \n\n \n no topics predetermined \n no keynote speakers invited \n no pan
els or working groups arranged \n \n\n Instead\, the event lives and dies
through the participation of its attendees. You propose talks\, workshops\
, and panels and decide what topics will be discussed. Then people convene
in separate breakout sessions. In other words\, an unconference has no ag
enda until the morning when participants create it. \n\n \n\n Who can lead
a session? \n\n This is an opportunity for anyone to propose and run a se
ssion on the day - in the supportive environment that codebar is known for
. \n\n We're counting on people attending to make some amazing sessions ha
ppen. Of course\, not everyone needs to prepare something but we encourage
all levels to think about the topics/sessions they are interested in. We
welcome sessions from first-time and seasoned speakers\, there is no bette
r setting to practice that talk you had in mind for a while. \n\n This is
a 100% participant-driven event: we're only going to suggest time slots an
d spaces\, and in the morning\, you'll pitch sessions and snag slots on th
e schedule. \n\n \n\n What kinds of sessions are suitable? \n\n As this is
an unconference\, you can decide what type of session you want to run: wo
rkshop\, talk\, discussion\, etc are all welcome. Topics can include anyth
ing related to web development\, software development\, game development\,
learning\, mentoring\, community\, and many more. This event is what you
make of it -- the organisers will be present to make sure you're engaged a
nd entertained. \n\n If you have an idea for a session but need help devel
oping it further please drop us an email hello@codebar.io\, we'd love to h
elp you develop your idea. \n\n All attendees are encouraged to join the #
uncodebar channel in our Slack to discuss potential sessions and session i
deas. We will also be using the channel to ask you questions and post upda
tes prior to the event. \n\n And finally\, due to our wonderful event Tra
vel Partner - Curaleaf - we may be able to subsidise the cost of your trav
el to uncodebar (UK people only) to ensure as many people can attend as po
ssible. The form in this form and we'll be in touch with you in a few days
 . \n\n \nPLEASE NOTE - All visitors are required to present a valid\, in-
date\, physical government-issued ID (such as a passport or driving licens
 e) upon check-in. Photos or photocopies of IDs cannot be accepted. \n
