DESCRIPTION: Join us for a evening of comedy\, lightning talks\, networking
and plenty of snacks to close off a week of brilliant codebar Festival ta
lks! We’ll have a handful of amateur and veteran comedians taking to the
stage for an evening where tech meets talent. \n\n We’re creating a spa
ce where everyone can belong\, at a time when diversity and inclusion has
become increasingly deprioritised by tech companies. Every ticket sold sup
ports codebar’s mission to empower underrepresented groups to succeed in
tech. \n\n Our lightning talk lineup includes (in no particular order) \n
\n \n Kourosh Simpkins on The Implications of Watching (Deepfaked) Politic
ians Play Minecraft\, \n Keegan Rimmington on Box Packing is Hard\, \n Hug
h Evans on Meetup is Terrible Now: Strategies for Beating Platform Enshitt
ification for Community Organisers\, \n Willow Smith on No More £60 Paper
weights: A Rant About Planned Obsolescence and Smart Home Hardware (and it
’s apparently the best talk ever given). \n \n\n The event's (very tenta
 tive!) schedule is \n\n \n 1800 — arrive and network \n 1830 — comedy
 sets start \n 1930 — brief break \n 1945 — lightning talks start \n 20
45 — more networking! \n \n\n If you’d like to join our comedy or ligh
tning talk lineup and raise money for a phenomenal charity\, reach out to
us at hello@codebar.io! \n\n This event is emceed by Melissa Tranfield and
Leo Riviera. \n\n This event is supported by Newspeak House\, and sponsor
ed by Voxa and Living Spec. \n
