DESCRIPTION: Please note that this will be a fully-online event with no phy
sical meet-up. \n\n Making research relevant: The importance of trusted re
search environments and knowledge exchange to maximise real-world impact -
Katherine O'Sullivan \n\n Trusted research environments (TREs) are criti
cal in ensuring personal data is de-identified for research purposes. But
individual-level\, personal data is equally critical in providing actionab
le improvements for those on the front line in health and social care sett
ings. This talk will provide an overview of the Grampian Data Safe Haven a
nd its role in de-identifying and linking data within the ‘Five Safes’
framework for health and population research. But it will also discuss th
e ways TREs can facilitate research outputs being implemented in health an
d social care settings to provide real-world impact to individuals in care
environments. \n\n Bio:Katherine O’Sullivan\, Grampian Data Safe Haven
Operational Lead\, University of Aberdeen.Kate joined the Grampian Data Sa
fe Haven (DaSH) in September 2021\, with responsibility for the operation
and project management of DaSH. She is a Co-Investigator on two DARE UK pr

Research Outputs)\, and Co-Investigator on the Research Data Scotland S
ystems Development Fund for federated learning and knowledge exchan
ge across the Scottish Safe Haven Network. \n\n \nThis event is orgnanise
d by a charity - Code The City. CTC suggests a small donation to help with
charity admin costs\, but if this is a barrier please just change the tic
ket price to what you can afford. \n\n We're now back to running physical
events (with an online option via Zoom). \n\n If you select a physical tic
ket and it happens that we can not meet physically you will have to attend
the Zoom session. If you choose a physical ticket and it goes ahead you w
ill have to comply with any conditions of attendance (eg masks or social d
istancing) that the venue operators demand at the time. \n\n Those attendi
ng the physical space meetup should attend at 6pm for pizza and drinks. Th
e talk will be from 6.30pm. Doors will be locked from 6.30pm. \n\n **If ti
ckets are sold out please do not attend as you will be refused entry witho
ut a ticket. ** \n\n Our booking system is provided by Tito. Their platfor
