DESCRIPTION: "Tayside music lovers of a certain vintage will be delighted t
o hear that the legendary\, and somewhat reclusive\, Saint Andrew (of Wool
len Mill fame) will be performing a very rare gig on Sunday October 26th a
t Clarks Bar on Lindsay Street. The patron saint will be performing a sele
ction of material from the two critically acclaimed albums he made with re
nowned singer / songwriter Michael Marra before Michaels’ untimely passi
ng in 2012. \n\n “Michael and I never really had the opportunity to perf
orm much of this material at the time of their release so this is an oppor
tunity to redress this in some small way. It’s just a pity Michael himse
lf can’t be part of it on the night”. \n\n “The songs on both The Wo
rd on the Pavey and Hubris pay homage to a wide variety of musical styles
 and genre’s including rap\, gospel\, reggae + western\, reels and jigs\,
ballads\, light opera\, jazz and Euro Pop. Self-explanatory song titles s
uch as “Its Rare T’be Alehv”\, “This World is Phuhl O’ A Number
 O’ Things”\, “Aninginaneana”\, “A Secret Commonwealth of Elvis F
ans”\, “Woodwork” and “Beh Shinty Live Beh Shinty Deh” tell ever
yday stories of life and living\, bric-a-brac\, bakery products\, rural af
fairs\, basic carpentry and close combat ball games – amongst other thin
gs”. \n\n “We’ll be playing a fair selection from both albums plus a
few surprise additions. The songs will be re-worked slightly to suit the
line-up for the show. Expect it to be fluid\, organic and\, in all likelih
ood\, verging on the feral – in parts. Hopefully it will be a productive
and enlightening experience for all”. \n\n Saint Andrew will be backed
by The Rare Wee Helps for this gig comprising seasoned axe-man ‘Lonesome
Guitar’ Stu Ivins on guitars\, jazz stalwart Kelvin Murthly on guitars
and FX\, Luke Brady on accordion and vibes\, and ‘tub thumper’ extraor
 dinaire Mr. Hector O’Sexual on castanets." \n\n DOORS: 4:00pm | LIVE: 5:
 00pm \n\n \n
