DESCRIPTION: This Race at Work event is aimed at employers in the health &a
 mp\; social care sector and will provide advice and guidance on recruitmen
 t\, retention and developing an ethnically diverse workplace. \n\n  \nIn p
 articular\, we will address the barriers to recruitment\, share best pract
 ice in retention\, and provide support in relation to career progression a
 nd development. The workshop will include presentations from those who are
  actively addressing these issues. \n\n We will explore the specific chall
 enges facing this sector and how creating inclusive workplaces can enhance
  experiences of ethnically diverse colleagues and make the sector more com
 petitive. \n\n Participants will be introduced to Business in the Communit
 y’s Race at Work Charter\, a positive step employers can take when promo
 ting an inclusive workplace. The Equality Commission will also discuss the
 ir Racial Equality Action Plan\, an additional resource that employers can
  avail of. \n\n This event is open to members and non-members of Business 
 in the Community. \n
