  lonely older person? \n\n If you’d like to help brighten someone’s da
 y with a simple phone call\, come along to this 30-minute session to learn
  what a Befriending Volunteer role involves and support and training avail
 able. \n\n We are delighted to partner with Engage with Age\, a charity de
 dicated to supporting older people\, that are currently seeking telephone 
 befriending volunteers from across Northern Ireland to help those experien
 cing loneliness. \n\n Engage with Age telephone befrienders make 2-3 calls
  per week to an older person who feels isolated and disconnected. These ca
 lls can be made at a time and place that suits you. \n\n Befriending volun
 teers play a vital role in reducing loneliness and isolation by offering f
 riendship\, conversation\, and regular social contact to older people in t
 he community. \n\n Whether you’re curious about volunteering or ready to
  take the next step\, this is a great opportunity to find out more in a re
 laxed and welcoming space. \n
