DESCRIPTION: Supply Chain Metrics and Systemic Outcomes \n\n \n "Performanc
e measurement in the logistics function\, like all business\nfunctions\, b
egins at the individual metric level. A performance\nmeasurement system th
at is well designed at the strategic level can be\nflawed at the individua
l metric level\; the Achilles’ Heel of any\nmeasurement system. The pres
sing need is not for the development of\nnovel performance metrics: there
is a great abundance of sufficient\nmetrics already in existence. Rather\,
there is a need for a method with\nwhich to evaluate existing metrics. Th
is paper addresses this need by\nsuggesting a set of evaluation criteria f
or individual logistics\nperformance metrics and identifying the inherent
 trade-offs. A taxonomy\nof logistics performance metrics\, organized by pr
ocess rather than by\nfunction\, is also presented and the metrics are eva
luated using the\nestablished criteria." -- Chris Caplice and Yossi Sheffi
\n\n "Good insights into how to setup metrics that lead to the right syst
emic outcomes\, focused on supply chain logistics as the domain\, which is
an area that’s becoming more important for various reasons." -- Adrian
Cockcroft \n \n\n \nOur Papers in Systems discussion series will continue
with discussion of “A Review and Evaluation of Logistics Metrics\," by
Chris Caplice and Yossi Sheffi \n\n The discussion will be led by Ryan Ecc

he Zoom room will remain open until 2:30PM for informal discussion. \n\n T
