DESCRIPTION: Rudolf Steiner's Goetheanum - \n\n a new experience of communi
ty building \n\n Trinity Biomedical Science Institute\, Pearse St\, Dublin
  2 \n\n In 1913 in Dornach\, Switzerland\, work began on the\nbuilding tha
t would become First Goetheanum. Throughout the First World War constructi
on\ncontinued until the opening in September 1920. Barely two years later
\, on New Year’s Eve\n1922\, it was burned to the ground in an arson att
ack. An international community of artists and builders had\nbeen key to i
ts construction\, and its forms spoke directly out of a language of\nthe e
soteric. Steiner described the building in a fairy tale as an open secret\
;\nelsewhere as Gesamtkunstwerk - a holistic living work of art. What wa
s\nits secret? And why was it destroyed? \n\n Join us in Dublin on the las
t weekend of August for this \n\n experiential conference\, as we look tow
ards the 100th anniversary \n\n of the tragic burning of the First Goethea
num. \n\n with Constanza Kaliks\, Peter Selg\, Richard Ramsbotham\, and Al
 an Potter \n
