DESCRIPTION: Join the Capitol Hill Chorale for "The Music of Fanny Mendelss
 ohn Hensel" on Saturday\, March 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday\, March 17 at 4
p.m. at Capitol Hill Presbyterian Church. \n\n Composer and pianist Fanny
  Mendelssohn Hensel (Nov. 14\, 1805 – May 14\, 1847) received the same m
usical education as her famous brother Felix. According to her father\, He
nsel's musical talent could be "only an ornament." As a woman\, she never
received the same recognition of her younger sibling. \n\n In this program
\, we will shine a light on Hensel’s choral compositions. \n\n We will b
e joined for this concert by mezzo-soprano Kristen Dubenion-Smith\, recogn
ized for her "velvety legato and embracing warmth of sound" (Washington Cl
assical Review). \n\n Dr. Michael Cooper\, biographer of both Fanny and Fe
lix Mendelssohn\, will join the Chorale for a pre-concert lecture on her l
ife and music. The lecture begins 30 minutes before the start of each conc
ert. \n\n \n\n COVID Precautions \n\n We do not require masks or proof of
vaccination for audience members\, but we encourage our audience to be res
pectful of their neighbors' preferences. If you are sick\, please do not a
ttend—even if it's not COVID. \n\n Specific requirements may be updated
based on COVID levels in the area. We will keep this ticket page updated w
ith the most current information\, and we will happily issue refunds to th
ose who might be unable to attend based on changes to our safety policies
or due to illness. \n\n \n\n On-Demand Option \n\n We are also offering an
on-demand ticket option for those who cannot attend this concert in perso
 n. By purchasing that ticket\, you will receive a link to the video of the
Sunday concert\, which will be available to watch at any time after that
point. Everyone who purchases a ticket to attend in person will also recei
ve access to the on-demand options for later viewing. We will also be rele
asing this link publicly. Please note that we are still formalizing our di
gitization process and there may be hiccups or delays. We encourage you to
see us live if you can! \n\n \n\n This is a pay-what-you-can performance
with suggested ticket prices. You can edit the ticket price if you would l
ike to pay a different amount. \n\n If you have any questions about the ou
tlined policies\, aren't sure which ticket to buy\, or need to inquire abo
ut refunds\, please contact us at tickets@capitolhillchorale.org. \n
