 CS. FRCOGR \n\n Educated at Blundell’s School and St Bartholomew’s Hos
 pital Medical College\, he graduated in 1966 prior to training as a Genera
 l Surgeon and then an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist.  Awarded a Fulbright Sch
 olarship\, he undertook\na fellowship at the University of South Florida\,
  before returning to his Alma\nMater as the first formally trained Gynaeco
 logical Oncologist in the UK in\n1981.  He was appointed to the Royal Mars
 den Hospital in 1983. His interests were\nin radical surgery for ovarian a
 nd cervical cancer which led him to developing\nmore conservative fertilit
 y-conserving approaches in young women\, initially to\nloud and threatenin
 g objections from his senior traditional colleagues. Learning of his\nProf
 essorial Chair in 1999 whilst competing in the Fastnet Race\, he has\npubl
 ished over 260 papers in peer review journals\, 80 chapters and 4 text\nbo
 oks. He retired from clinical practice in December 2015 but continues to p
 rovide medico-legal opinions when not travelling across Europe or sailing 
 his boat with his wife\nAlison in the Greek islands. \n\n \n\n  \n
