DESCRIPTION: Time: 4.30pm - 6.00pm \n\n \n\n Date: 26th March 2026 \n\n \n\
n Location: Gaffney Room and Online \n\n \n\n Ireland has one of the lowes
t forest cover percentages in Europe (approx. 11 – 12 %) and even less i
s native woodland. Members and others may not be aware of generous\ngrants
available and support through Teagasc and other advisors to establish\nan
d develop small forests. \n\n If you are a land owner\, may be in the futu
re or know of others\, planting small native\nforests is crucial to restor
ing biodiversity as it can sequester carbon up to\n30 times more efficient
ly than grass lands. These fast growing small forests\nhelp revive endange
red ecosystems. Also welcome\, perhaps given weather this\nyear\, is that
they can also mitigated local flooding. \n\n The Climate Bar (Comhshaol) a
re organising CPD for members throughout the country with an interest now
or in the future in establishing or helping to establish small\nforests. \
 n\n At the end of the presentation\, participants will\; \n\n \n Understan
d the key elements of establishing and maintaining small forests\, the pro
cess and legal framework \n Recognise key aspects of planting options (nat
ive woodland\, agroforestry\, conifers) grants and navigating the 2023-202

acy Walsh Solicitors \n\n Siobhan McCarthy\, Veon Ltd \n\n \n\n This event
is open to all \n\n There will be a networking reception in The Sheds aft
