DESCRIPTION: Overview \n\n In the mid-1990s\, the Future and Emerging Tec
hnologies (FET) programme launched i3 – Intelligent Information Interfac
es\, also known as The Disappearing Computer. This visionary initiative br
 ought together engineers\, ethnographers\, designers\, artists\, computer
scientists\, and philosophers to explore real-world use cases in schools\,
offices\, and hospitals. \nUnfortunately\, the programme was discontinue
 d. Human-centered exploration fragmented into UX\, usability\, and Human-C
omputer Interaction (HCI)\, while technical development followed a separat
e trajectory—focusing on situated and autonomous computing. This divisio
 n\, in hindsight\, proved detrimental: \n\n \n From the technical side\,
human interaction became an afterthought. \n From the HCI perspective\,
technical frameworks were accepted as fixed and retrofitted into user cont
exts. \n \n\n Today\, we have an opportunity to reunite these paths\, to
create connectivity grounded in ethical design and social inclusion. \n
 \n Why 6G? \n\n 6G networks promise higher speeds\, lower latency\, and
the capacity to connect many more devices than 5G. These features not only
enhance performance and reliability but also create opportunities for:
\n\n \n Increased energy efficiency \n Greater sustainability \n Stronge
 r digital inclusion \n A more resilient\, human-centric digital society
\n \n\n Although 6G is expected to be deployed around 2030\, groundwork i
s already underway\, and the ethics of connectivity must be part of the de
sign process from the start. \n\n Webinar objectives \n\n \n Present 6
G as more than just a technical advancement\, but a catalyst for transform
 ative connectivity \n Spark a broad\, cross-disciplinary discussion aroun
d the question: What kind of connectivity do we want? \n Introduce the wo
rk of the Dutch 6G Ethics Board and the Future Network Services (FNS) ecos
ystem \n Explore Key Value Indicators (KVIs) as tools for ethical\, meani
ngful innovation beyond commercial KPIs \n \n\n Target stakeholders \n
\n \n Regional and national regulators\, legislators\, and policy makers
\n Telecom companies working on 5G/6G implementation and use cases \n Eth
nographers\, sociologists\, philosophers\, and others exploring the social
impact of tech \n Anyone interested in the emerging triangle of value:
 IoT\, AI\, and 6G \n\n Session focus \n\n We are in a critical five-ye
ar window to embed ethics as a core component - not an afterthought - in t
echnical frameworks. Through this discussion\, we aim to: \n Align sust
ainability\, European values\, and societal impact with network design \
n Develop intuitive\, inclusive digital experiences \n Provide an acti
onable ethics toolbox for innovators and policymakers \n \n\n Anticipat
ed outcomes \n\n \n Deepen our understanding of the ethical and social d
imensions of next-generation technologies \n Develop a shared language to
move beyond hype or fear toward meaningful debate \n Introduce Key Value
Indicators (KVIs) as tools for building purpose-driven use cases \n High
light how European programmes are scaling up ethical innovation in the 6G
 space \n \n
